Delicious Beef Kofta-A Flavorful Meatball Curry

 Kofta is a delicious dish made from spiced ground meat (usually beef, lamb, or chicken ) shaped into balls. It can be grilled, fried, or cooked in a sauce.




Ingredients:

For the Kofta:

  • 500g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • half tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • half tablespoon paprika
  • half tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • half tablespoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying or grilling )
For the Yogurt Sauce (Optional) ):

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:

Prepare the Kofta Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, and all the spices. Mix well with your hands until everything is evenly combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavor develop.

Shape the Kofta

Take small portions of the meat mixture and shape them into oval logs or round meatballs. If using skewers, press the mixture around the skewers.

Cook the Kofta


  • Pan-Fried: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the kofta for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  • Grilled: Preheat the grill to medium-high and cook 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally.
