Chicken Cheese Ball is a delicious appetizer made by combining cooked, shredded chicken with cheese (usually mozzarella or cheddar ), seasonings, and binding ingredients.
Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheddar )
- half teaspoon garlic powder
- half teaspoon onion powder
- half teaspoon black pepper
- half teaspoon salt
- half teaspoon red chili flakes (optional, for spice )
- half teaspoon oregano or mixed herbs (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander or parsley
- half teaspoon paprika (optional for color )
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (for creaminess )
- 1 tablespoon corn flour (to help bind )
- half cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular )
- oil, for deep frying
Step 1: Prepare the Filling
In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, red chili flakes, oregano, parsley, mayonnaise, and cornstarch. Combine everything well until you get a sticky mixture that holds together. Take small portions and roll them into balls (about the size of a golf ball ). Place the balls on a plate and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to firm up.
Step 2: Coat the Balls
Prepare three bowls:
- One with flour
- One with beaten eggs
- One with breadcrumbs
Step 3: Fry the Chicken Cheese Balls
Heat oil in a deep pan or fryer over medium heat. Fry 3-4 balls at a time, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
